Teaching Sunday School in Cantonese

Lowell was called as 1st Counselor in the Sunday School in our Sheung Shui Ward and to teach the singles...in Cantonese! This last Sunday was his first attempt and these are the eleven students who attended the class which is actually Gospel Doctrine. It went pretty well. We had one Philippino sister in attendance who didn't speak Cantonese which made it a little more permissable to throw in some English now and then.
Susan: Actually his lesson was excellent. He asked the class how to say "Paul" in Cantonese and when he repeated it back he used the wrong tone and said "pineapple" instead. They got a good laugh out of that. They were very impressed that he could teach mostly in Cantonese and write Chinese characters on the board as well. Posted by Picasa
