We joined the Pierces and the Smiths (former president and matron of the Provo Temple) on an excursion to the Nan Lian Garden at Diamond Hill. You can see these parks are set in the middle of otherwise high-rise housing areas and are a refreshing sight to the labyrinth of overpasses, busy streets, and shops which generally greet the passerby. We enjoyed a tasty Chinese lunch afterwards at one of dozens of restaurants in the nearby Plaza Hollywood Mall. Here are the most interesting things off their menu: Smoked duck breast and bamboo fungus, Rice with roasted ox tongue and eggplant, Pan-fried crispy pork intestine large!

Mom, are you using that umbrella to block the sun? I love it!!!
