Temple of the 10,000 Buddhas

Well, it was another "temple" P-Day. The Chinese temples are so fascinating. I think we climbed 10,000 stairs up a steep mountain peak to the Temple of the 10,000 Buddhas. My knees were shaking by the time we got there but it was worth it. The winding walkway up there was lined on both sides with "Buddhas" of every kind and as you can see the main room in the temple has thousands of small Buddhas lining the walls. The bottom left picture is the monastery below the temple where the monks live.

  1. That's awesome - what's the story with the bowls of oranges in the temple?
