What About Your Spare Time?

We are frequently asked, "What do you do in your spare time (since we only work at the temple four days a week)"? There doesn't seem to really be much of that. When one has to wash dishes by hand and dry them two or three times a day, wash clothes twice a week (washer is small, so whites; then darks [but not on the same day] get washed about every 5 days) and hang them up to dry (no dryer), iron shirts, prepare Sunday School lessons, bake bread (Susan's ongoing obsession), cook meals, and cut hair (Lowell does his own), there really isn't a lot of SPARE time left. You note earlier from our blog, we did a fair bit of looking around (parks, temples, etc.) at first, but we don't find much time to do so any more.

  1. Cute pictures! I love seeing you do the cooking and ironing Dad. :) Oh, how I wish you guys were here. Little Baby McKinley has the hiccups in my belly right now. Thank heavens for Skype. Even though you won't meet her till she's 10 months old, you'll be able to see her on there. :)

  2. I know exactly how you feel with the dishes and laundry. Our washer is small and no dryer, which makes it necessary to iron everything. so yes, a practically a load everyday for me, since there isn't much room on the drying rack either. We really are spoiled back home.
